The Tigers are penciling in Justin Verlander to start on Tuesday against the Pirates, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports. Verlander missed his most recent start due to mid-back stiffness. Buck Farmer started on June 24 in his place, but struggled in a loss to the Indians.

Verlander, 32, made his season debut on June 13 after dealing with a strained right triceps. In two starts thus far, he has allowed eight runs on 13 hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings.
