Bud Norris has been sidelined since May 10 due to bronchitis and the Orioles have finally decided to place him on the 15-day disabled list.
According to Rich Dubroff of CSNBaltimore.com, Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that Norris has lost “significant weight” while battling the illness. He’ll be eligible to return on May 26 if he’s feeling better by then.
Norris has really struggled to begin the season, posting an ugly 9.88 ERA with 18 strikeouts and 13 walks in 27 1/3 innings over six starts. Mike Wright filled in on Sunday against the Angels and tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings in his major league debut. He deserves another opportunity.
