Bryce Harper’s ridiculously good season continues

Bryce Harper hasn’t let up a bit.

Yesterday, against the Padres, Harper hit a three-run homer, tripled and drove in four. That brings his batting line up to .326/.467/690 with 13 homers and 33 RBI. In all of 2014 he hit 13 homers and drove in 32. He also has 35 walks. Last year he had 38.

Those 2014 numbers, of course, are partially a function of him being unable to stay healthy and in the lineup. Not so this year. In addition to the production which has him leading the league in runs, home runs, walks, slugging percentage and OPS, he also leads the National League in games played and plate appearances. And bWAR too, if you’re into that.

Most importantly, the Nationals have almost completely climbed out of the eight-game hole they found themselves in on April 27 and currently sit a mere half game behind the Mets in the NL East.

MVP?
