Twins will call up prospect Aaron Hicks

Our own Aaron Gleeman is reporting that the Twins are expected to promote outfield prospect Aaron Hicks from Triple-A Rochester. Hicks, 25, was performing well in the minors, batting .330/.412/.553 with 15 extra-base hits — including nine doubles and four triples — in 119 plate appearances.

Hicks made the Twins’ 25-man roster out of spring training going into the 2013 and ’14 seasons, but struggled against major league pitching. Over 538 plate appearances in both seasons, he compiled a .201/.293/.313 triple-slash line while going 13-for-19 stealing bases.
