Alex Colome to make 2015 debut Friday vs. Orioles

Alex Colome showed up late to Rays camp this spring due to visa issues in his native Dominican Republic and he caught a bad case of pneumonia once he did finally arrive in Florida. But everything is trending well now for the 26-year-old right-hander …

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Colome is scheduled to make his 2015 regular-season debut this Friday night against the Orioles. The game was scheduled to be played at Camden Yards, but it has been shifted to Tampa Bay’s Tropicana Field due to the ongoing unrest in downtown Baltimore.

Colome posted a 2.35 ERA and 17/3 K/BB ratio in 15 1/3 rehab innings (four starts) between High-A Charlotte and Triple-A Durham. He boasts a 2.50 ERA in 39 2/3 career major league frames.
