Dodgers reliever Joel Peralta said he is dealing with a “dead arm” and could need a stint on the disabled list, MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick reports. Peralta reports feeling no pain, but also said he doesn’t have any strength in his shoulder.
Peralta, 39, hasn’t been scored upon in 5 2/3 innings for the Dodgers thus far. He has allowed only two hits and three walks while striking out four. As the main pitcher used in save situations in lieu of the injured Kenley Jansen, Peralta is 3-for-3 in save situations. Yimi Garcia — off to a better start than Peralta — is likely to see increased save chances as will Paco Rodriguez and Pedro Baez if Peralta needs to take a couple of weeks off.
