Dodgers release Freddy Garcia from Triple-A team

Veteran right-hander Freddy Garcia, who signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers at the end of spring training, has been released from the Triple-A team.

Garcia made three starts and one relief appearance for Oklahoma City and the 38-year-old former All-Star struggled with a 7.36 ERA and 7/4 K/BB ratio in 7.1 innings.

Despite working with mid-80s velocity following his 1999-2006 peak Garcia stuck around for a long time as a serviceable back-of-the-rotation starter, but he hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2013 and looks just about done.
