Mets reliever Jerry Blevins has a fractured left forearm

Brutal news here for the NL East-leading Mets.

According to beat writer Mike Vorkunov of the Newark Star-Ledger, lefty reliever Jerry Blevins suffered a fractured left forearm Sunday when he was struck by a comebacker off the bat of Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon. The injury is to his throwing arm, so Blevins figures to miss a large chunk of time.

The 31-year-old southpaw was acquired from the Nationals in late March for outfielder Matt den Dekker and had been terrific for the Mets in the early going, allowing no runs in seven appearances.
