Matt Holliday exits game with back tightness

Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday exited Saturday’s game against the Reds after just one inning due to mid-back tightness.

Holliday doubled and scored a run in the bottom of the first before leaving the ballgame. Jon Jay moved over to left field to take his place while Peter Bourjos entered the game to play center field. The Cardinals are calling Holliday’s exit “precautionary,” so it’s probably safe to consider him day-to-day.

Holliday, 35, is batting .364/.476/.394 across his first 10 games this season.
