FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reports that the Marlins have claimed left-hander Matt Tracy off waivers from the Yankees.
Tracy was called up after last Friday’s 19-inning marathon between the Red Sox and Yankees and allowed three runs on two hits and two walks over two innings in his lone appearance. He was designated for assignment the next day.
The 26-year-old Tracy owns a 3.81 ERA with 6.5 K/9 and 3.7 BB/9 in the minors, primarily as a starter. He’ll provide some rotation depth in Triple-A at the very least.
