Robinson Cano was on third. There was a man on second. There was no one on first. The batter walked to load the bases.
Except Cano, for whatever reason, thought the bases were loaded before the walk and just tried to trot home from third base after ball 4. Watch:

After the game Cano was asked if that was the worst mistake he had ever made:
“I would say yes. I felt in that situation the dumbest guy in the game,” he said. “I wish he’d thrown it into left field. Those are the things that make you embarrassed, being in the game so long and those little things happen in a game. I told the manager, ‘It’s my fault, I should have been paying attention.'”
We should not all be judged by our worst days. But hoo-boy, this one was something.
