Indians recall Danny Salazar from Triple-A to start Saturday

Danny Salazar is back in the majors after just one start at Triple-A, rejoining the Indians’ rotation with Carlos Carrasco still recovering from taking a comebacker to the face.

Salazar was surprisingly demoted to the minors at the end of spring training despite lots of people viewing the 25-year-old right-hander as a prime breakout candidate this season. Now he returns to start Saturday against the Twins after throwing six shutout innings in his lone Triple-A outing of the year.

Salazar struck out seven and walked zero in his Triple-A start and has a 3.89 ERA with 185 strikeouts in 162 innings as a big leaguer, so perhaps the Indians will give him some extra leeway this time around.
