Dontrelle Willis gets a television job

Now that Dontrelle Willis has officially announced his retirement following another unsuccessful comeback attempt, FOX Sports 1 has hired the former Rookie of the Year winner as a television studio analyst.

Willis was always praised for having a good, likeable personality and given how quickly his once-promising career unraveled it’s nice to see him able to stay in baseball.

He’s still only 33 years old, but Willis hasn’t thrown 100 innings in a season since 2007 and hasn’t posted an ERA below 5.00 since 2006. He was in camp with the Brewers this spring, trying to win a bullpen job, but neck problems derailed his comeback.
