Good news on Brandon Belt from Alex Pavlovic of CSNBayArea.com …
Belt said MRI revealed just a very mild strain. He’s optimistic he’ll avoid DL, may try to take BP today.

Belt strained his right groin muscle Tuesday while chasing after a foul pop-up in the fourth inning of the Giants’ 7-6 loss to the Diamondbacks. Buster Posey is starting at first base for San Francisco on Wednesday night in Arizona and Hector Sanchez will be behind the plate for spot starter Chris Heston. There were no new position players in the Giants’ clubhouse Wednesday evening, so maybe Belt really is in the clear.
