Chicago team sends stud prospect to Triple-A despite excellent spring training performance!
No, not Kris Bryant. This time it’s left-hander Carlos Rodon, the No. 3 overall pick in last year’s draft who rose to Triple-A shortly after signing and then looked great in White Sox camp.
Rodon racked up 19 strikeouts with just three walks in 13 spring training innings and the White Sox need a short-term fill-in for the injured Chris Sale, but instead he’ll begin the season in Charlotte.
Rodon ranked as a consensus top-20 prospect and has top-of-the-rotation upside, so expect to see him in Chicago by the All-Star break.
