Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez hired motivational speaker Donnie Moore to energize his clubhouse on Saturday. Part of Moore’s spiel included having Gonzalez trust him enough to break a brick over his chest with a hammer. Gonzalez walked away unscathed.

Gonzalez said the idea to bring Moore in came from outfielder Jonny Gomes.
The Braves, perhaps inspired by Moore, held on to win 6-5 over the Astros in Saturday afternoon’s Grapefruit League action.
