Free agent starter Chris Young planning to sign with new team by the end of this week

According to’s Jerry Crasnick, free agent right-hander Chris Young has offers in hand and is planning to make a final decision on which team he will sign with by the end of this week.

Young drew surprisingly-little interest on the open market this winter after winning American League Comeback Player of the Year honors last season by posting a 3.65 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 165 innings (29 starts and one relief appearance) with Seattle.

He can be solid rotation depth for some team.

Young, a 10-year major league veteran, will turn 36 years old in May.
