Giants manager Bruce Bochy expected back in camp Sunday following heart procedure

Giants manager Bruce Bochy was admitted to a local hospital Thursday evening to have two stents inserted after experiencing heart discomfort, but he won’t be away from his team for long.

According to Chris Haft of, Bochy was released from the hospital on Friday and later wrote in a text message that he will be “ready to go” to return to Giants’ camp on Sunday.

Bochy’s son, right-hander Brett Bochy, visited his father on Friday and said that he was “feeling really good.” He actually wanted to oversee Friday’s workouts, which likely didn’t surprise anyone in Giants’ camp, but he was ordered to rest up instead. Anything involving the heart is scary, so there’s no reason to push it, but it sounds like he’s going to be fine.
