Marlins general manager Dan Jennings says starter Jose Fernandez could return to the rotation as early as June 15 MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro reports. Fernandez is recovering from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last May.
Fernandez, 22, has turned plenty of heads with his performance in his young career. The right-hander has a career 2.25 ERA and a 257/71 K/BB ratio in 224 1/3 innings. His return would be a significant boon to the Marlins’ rotation.
