Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com writes that he’s “hearing Kyle Kendrick is going to go to the Rockies.”
Kendrick has spent his entire eight-year career with the Phillies, who drafted him in the seventh round back in 2003.
He has a 4.42 ERA in 1,138 career innings, including a 4.61 ERA and 121/57 K/BB ratio in 199 innings last season.
Kendrick is fairly durable and has generally been a decent back-of-the-rotation starter, but his lack of strikeouts is a particularly poor fit for Coors Field and he served up 25 homers in 32 starts last year.
UPDATE: Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports says it’s a one-year, $5.5 million deal.
