After negotiations with Ryan Vogelsong broke down last week, the Astros are now considering alternatives.
According to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman, the Astros are among the teams looking at free agent Kevin Correia as they search for back-end rotation help. The Rockies were also mentioned as a possibility for the veteran right-hander before the holidays.
Correia, 34, posted a 5.44 ERA across 26 starts and six relief appearances last season between the Twins and Dodgers. His 4.62 K/9 was the lowest among MLB pitchers with at least 150 innings pitched. That’s not good.
