Braves claim Eury Perez off waivers from the Yankees

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Braves have claimed outfielder Eury Perez off waivers from the Yankees.

Perez, 24, was signed by the Nationals as an amateur free agent in 2007. The Yankees picked him up off waivers from the Nationals in September. Over 23 major league plate appearances, Perez has a .348 OPS and five stolen bases in as many opportunities. He has primarily played center field but can play both corners as well, so he’ll provide some depth and speed for the Braves.
