Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that reliever Kevin Gregg is throwing a showcase in Tempe, Arizona for about 15 teams in an attempt to garner a contract. It is believed that if all goes well, Gregg is expected to sign shortly thereafter.
Gregg, 36, had bone chips in his elbow removed in August and reportedly feels great. The right-hander allowed 10 runs in nine innings, between June 19 and July 13, for the Marlins last season. The 12-year veteran was effective the year prior, however, as he finished with a 3.48 ERA in 62 innings for the Cubs.
