Dodgers infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports. The Dodgers had designated Arruebarrena for assignment on New Year’s Eve to make room for Brett Anderson on the roster.
Arruebarrena, 25 in March, still has four years and $16 million remaining on his contract. He mustered a disappointing .464 OPS in 45 plate appearances at the major league level last season. In 272 PA split between four levels of the minor leagues, he had a .721 OPS.
