If it seems like it’s been a while since the news of the Dodgers’ signing Brett Anderson broke, it’s because it has been a while — nearly two weeks, in fact. The deal is still pending a physical and consultation with medical specialists, but Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports that the Dodger should make the assignment official some time next week, even as early as Monday.
Shaikin also reports that the Dodgers are close to a minor league deal with Taiwanese right-handed pitcher Chin-hui Tsao. Tsao, 33, hasn’t appeared in the major leagues since 2007 with the Dodgers. He has a 5.40 ERA over 88 1/3 career innings, most of them with the Rockies.
