The Orioles have signed infielder Paul Janish to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training, MLB.com’s Brittany Ghiroli reports. The 32-year-old journeyman has primarily played shortstop but can also move over to second and third base if necessary
Janish spent the 2014 season at Triple-A with the Rockies (Colorado Springs) and the Royals (Omaha). He batted an aggregate .268/.323/.359 over 398 plate appearances. While his bat is on the lighter end, he plays decent defense and his ability to play multiple positions gives him value as organizational depth.
