Reid Brignac signs minor league deal with Marlins

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Marlins have agreed to terms on a minor league contract with infielder Reid Brignac. The deal presumably comes with an invitation to major league spring training.

Brignac batted just .222/.300/.346 in 37 games this past season for the Phillies, making appearances defensively at third base, second base, and short.

The 28-year-old will function as organizational infield depth for Miami in 2015. Brignac can play multiple positions but is a weak .222/.266/.314 hitter in 905 career plate appearances at the major league level.
