The Angels announced that the club has signed pitcher Jeremy McBryde to a major league contract and designated outfielder Roger Kieschnick for assignment.
McBryde, 27, has spent eight seasons in the minor leagues and has yet to reach the majors. His 2014 season, his first at Triple-A, was the best of his professional career, as he finished with a 2.22 ERA and a 66/26 K/BB ratio in 65 innings.
Kieschnick, also 27, was selected off of waivers by the Diamondbacks in early April, spending most of his season at Triple-A Reno, where he hit .260/.317/.461 with 15 home runs and 49 RBI in 401 plate appearances. He was able to accrue 41 plate appearances in the big leagues, but hit only .195 in 41 trips to the plate. The Angels selected him off waivers from the Diamondbacks last month.
