Ned Yost doesn’t expect Yordano Ventura to miss his next start

Royals starter Yordano Ventura left with two outs in the sixth inning of Saturday’s start in Game 2 of the ALCS against the Orioles due to tightness in his right shoulder. Ventura’s velocity was lower than it normally is, registering in the low- to mid-90’s rather than the mid- to high-90’s, which was perhaps an indicator that something was off.

Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star reports¬†manager Ned Yost doesn’t expect that Ventura will need to skip his next start, which will come in Game 6 of the ALCS if necessary.

Ventura got a no-decision in Saturday’s start against the Orioles, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
