Ned Yost doesn’t expect Yordano Ventura to miss his next start

Royals starter Yordano Ventura left with two outs in the sixth inning of Saturday’s start in Game 2 of the ALCS against the Orioles due to tightness in his right shoulder. Ventura’s velocity was lower than it normally is, registering in the low- to mid-90’s rather than the mid- to high-90’s, which was perhaps an indicator that something was off.

Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star reports manager Ned Yost doesn’t expect that Ventura will need to skip his next start, which will come in Game 6 of the ALCS if necessary.

Ventura got a no-decision in Saturday’s start against the Orioles, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
