Giants, Nationals locked in a pitcher’s duel through five innings in NLDS Game 2

Nationals starter Jordan Zimmermann, fresh off of his no-hitter against the Marlins to end the regular season, has held the Giants to just three hits with no walks and three strikeouts over five innings. The Nationals staked him to a 1-0 lead in the third inning thanks to Anthony Rendon’s RBI single.

Aside from the Rendon single, Hudson has matched Zimmermann, limiting the Nationals to four hits while striking out five and walking none.

Neither pitcher has a particularly high pitch count. Hudson stands with 61 and Zimmermann enters the sixth at 59.
