Diamondbacks receive permission to interview Chip Hale and Lorenzo Bundy for manager

The list of managerial candidates for the Diamondbacks is expanding by the minute.

According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, the club has received permission to interview Athletics bench coach Chip Hale and Dodgers third base coach Lorenzo Bundy. They have also asked the Rangers for permission to interview Tim Bogar, who finished out the season as interim manager following Ron Washington’s resignation.

Hale, Bundy, and Bogar are the latest additions to a list which also includes Sandy Alomar, Jr, Jay Bell, Jim Tracy, Phil Nevin, Turner Ward, and Andy Green. Pretty soon, it might be easier to name who is not under consideration for the gig. Chief baseball officer Tony La Russa is clearly leaving no stone unturned to settle on Kirk Gibson’s replacement.
