The Giants are out to a 4-0 lead in the National League Wild Card Game at Pittsburgh’s PNC Park courtesy of a fourth-inning grand slam by shortstop Brandon Crawford. It was a belt-high offspeed pitch from Edinson Volquez that Crawford drove deep to right. There have been 54 postseason grand slams, but Crawford’s was the first ever from a shortstop.
And that might be all the run support that Madison Bumgarner needs. He has allowed one hit through four.
