Josh Hamilton has played in just one game since September 4 due to shoulder, chest, and rib cage injuries, but the 33-year-old outfielder took batting practice, threw some long toss, and ran the bases on Tuesday afternoon and has declared himself ready for the ALDS, which will begin on Thursday.

Hamilton went through a full workout, including hitting off Drew Rucinski, and then he said “thumbs up,” reinforcing his earlier comments that he felt confident he would be able to play left field in Game 1 of the division series on Thursday.
Hitting coach Don Baylor also said he believed Hamilton was ready.
Look for Hamilton to start in left field and bat sixth or seventh Thursday against the winner of Tuesday night’s American League Wild Card Game. Hamilton hit cleanup for the Angels for the majority of this season, but he produced a disappointing .263/.331/.414 slash line in 89 games and is now probably dealing with some rust.
