Roenis Elias has a strained flexor bundle in his elbow

Mariners left-hander Roenis Elias has been diagnosed with a strained flexor bundle in his elbow, which typically carries a 4-6 week recovery timetable.

In other words: He won’t be an option again this season even if the Mariners make a deep playoff run.

It’s an unfortunate end to a solid rookie campaign for Elias, who threw 164 innings with a 3.85 ERA and 143/64 K/BB ratio at age 25. He’d been particularly good of late, posting a 2.31 ERA in 51 innings since mid-July.
