Question: does it really mean anything to be “shut down for the season” if there’s only a week left?
Reds starting pitcher Mat Latos began this season injured, and that’s how he’s going to end it as well. Latos, who has already missed two starts with a bone bruise in his right elbow, is not slated to get one final start this week before the season ends.
A lost year for Latos, who finishes the season 5-5 with a 3.25 ERA,and 74 strikeouts and 23 walks in 102 and a third innings.
Last we knew, however, he still had a cat named Cat Latos. And that’s pretty cool.
