Rangers assistant GM Thad Levine withdraws from Diamondbacks’ GM search


Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine has withdrawn his name from consideration to be the Diamondbacks’ new general manager, according to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Arizona chief baseball officer Tony La Russa included Levine in a wide net he cast in the search to replace Kevin Towers, targeting an assortment of candidates with varying degrees of front office experience.

Levine has been the Rangers’ assistant GM since October of 2005, serving as general manager Jon Daniels’ right-hand man during the most successful period in team history.
