Mat Latos scratched from start with elbow injury

Reds right-hander Mat Latos has been scratched from tonight’s scheduled start with a bone bruise in his elbow, according to Mark Sheldon of

Latos missed the first two-plus months of the season with multiple injuries, including an elbow problem.

When healthy enough to take the mound he’s been his usual self with a 3.25 ERA and 74/26 K/BB ratio in 102 innings, but Latos has been limited to just 16 starts after making at least 31 starts in each of the previous four seasons.

Right-hander Daniel Corcino, who has appeared in just two games as a reliever since making his MLB debut in late August, will start in Latos’ place against the Brewers.
