Braves minor leaguer suspended for amphetamines

The Braves’ 4th round pick from 2012 is gonna be sitting out a lot of games:

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Atlanta Braves Minor League outfielder Justin Black has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for an Amphetamine in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Black, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Danville Braves of the Appalachian League, is effective immediately.

It says “immediately,” but given that the Appalachian League — and whatever other minor league he may play for next year — is over, it’ll really start next spring.

Black is from Billings, Montana. There are four major leaguers from Billings, Montana. At this rate, Black ain’t gonna be the fifth.
