Jason Beck of reports that Sanchez played catch Sunday, which manager Brad Ausmus described as “a positive step.”

Sanchez has already been sidelined for a month, so his odds of building back enough arm strength to start again during the regular season aren’t great. However, the Tigers are probably just hoping he can get healthy enough to be an option in the playoffs.
