Jose Abreu’s 14-game hitting streak comes to an end


White Sox 1B/DH Jose Abreu was unable to get a hit in four at-bats against Indians starter Corey Kluber on Saturday night, ending his 14-game hitting streak. Abreu struck out once and grounded out three times.

During the streak, which spanned from August 19 to September 5, Abreu hit .510 (25-for-49) with two home runs and 10 RBI. On the season, he owns a .321/.382/.600 slash line with 33 home runs and 99 RBI. Abreu ranks in the top-five in the American League in all three Triple Crown categories.
