Say what you want about the rule which, it appears anyway, will prevent last night’s Cubs-Giants game from being resumed, but at least the Cubs themselves have been pretty standup about it all. Last night they offered — vainly, but admirably — to just agree to suspend the game and resume it at a later date even though that wasn’t actually allowable. They wanted to be fair to the Giants.
And now they’re doing a solid for the fans too:
#Cubs are inviting ticketholders from last night to redeem their tickets for a complimentary weeknight game at Wrigley Field this season.

Details will be sent to ticket buyers and posted to #Cubs.com. We hope our guests will enjoy another game to make up for last night’s delay.

They don’t have to do that — it was an official game and they can just move on if they want — but it’s good to see the good customer service here.
