Astros first base prospect Jon Singleton was promoted to the majors on Tuesday after agreeing to a five-year contract worth just $10 million guaranteed and homered in his fourth major league at-bat:

Singleton had a .941 OPS with 14 home runs and 43 RBI in 54 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City before his promotion to Houston. The 22-year-old could be a monster — a monster without much earning power.
