Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez was forced to make an early exit from tonight’s game against the Mets due to a left index finger contusion. He’s considered day-to-day. The good news is that this isn’t the same finger that bothered him for most of the second half last year. That was his right middle finger.
It’s unclear when Gonzalez hurt his finger during tonight’s game. He launched a solo home run off Bartolo Colon in his first at-bat — his second blast in as many days — and grounded into a double-play in the third inning before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the fourth.
Gonzalez, 28, is batting .245/.297/.482 with six home runs, 19 RBI, and two stolen bases through 28 games this season.
