Depending on what you think of Alex Wood’s chances to make the rotation and what you think of backup catchers like Ryan Doumit and Gerald Laird, you can argue that the Braves have six starters for the very long bus ride here. Andy Martino of SNY TV reports that the Mets “have gotten to the point of exchanging names with teams” in trade talks for closer Jeurys Familia. He says that nothing is imminent, but that we should expect a Familia trade “well before the deadline.”

Familia has 17 saves in 29 appearances, a 2.88 ERA and a 43/14 K/BB ratio over 40.2 innings this season.
