David Wright helped bring Curtis Granderson to the Mets with a text message

The Mets made their big off-season move earlier today, signing free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson to a four-year, $60 million deal. GM Sandy Alderson had promised to make some news, especially compared to the prior off-season when the Mets were among the least active teams. Per Newsday’s Marc Carig on Twitter, Alderson had some assistance bringing Granderson from the Bronx to Queens:

Wright has certainly done his part but Alderson may not be done making moves. First baseman Ike Davis is expected to change addresses via trade at some point, and second baseman Daniel Murphy could be moved as well. Further, the Mets have shown interest in adding a veteran to replace Matt Harvey in the starting rotation.
