A former Biogenesis employee — the disgruntled Porter Fischer — took documents from the clinic and then they were stolen from his car. Then Major League Baseball wound up with them. Not at all sketchy. Nope.
Whatever happened to them before and after Fischer had them may not have any bearing on Alex Rodriguez’s suspension by Major League Baseball, but they may mean something for someone in that chain of custody, as the police are once again looking into it all. From the Palm Beach Post:
A Florida police department has reopened an investigation into the theft of documents related to baseball’s inquiry into whether Alex Rodriguez used performance-enhancing drugs.
Boca Raton police officer Sandra Boonenberg said Monday the investigation was reopened several weeks ago based on new information stemming from Rodriguez’s lawsuit against Major League Baseball.
A-Rod may not beat the rap. But his efforts to do so may cause someone else to go down with him. So that’s fun.
