Catcher Ramon Hernandez has another new home.
According to Shi Davidi of Canada’s Sportsnet, the 37-year-old agreed to a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on Sunday morning and will report this week to Triple-A Buffalo. Hernandez was released by the Dodgers on June 22 after batting just .208 with a .291 on-base percentage in 55 plate appearances.
He owns a .263/.327/.417 batting line in the majors and will function as organizational depth for the Jays.
Hernandez has also played for the Athletics, Padres, Orioles, Reds and Rockies over the course of his 15-year big league career.
