Alex Rodriguez to face live pitching tomorrow

I’ve counted approximately 3,875 articles in which someone has, in one way or another, referred to Alex Rodriguez as a player “who may never play for the Yankees again.” If that’s the case, no one has told Alex Rodriguez that:

 

Usually live pitching precedes a rehab assignment precedes activation, with the whole process lasting around three weeks if there are no setbacks. Which, even proceeding conservatively, puts A-Rod back in pinstripes to open up the second half. Possibly a debut before then if he’s feeling good.

That is, unless he’s suspended in the Biogenesis mess, but that’s another story.
