Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino will wait a little while longer before starting his rehab. Manager John Farrell says Victorino is “not running at 100 percent yet”, per WEEI’s Alex Speier. The Sox were hopeful that Victorino would need the minimum 15 days before being activated on June 5, but mid-June is now a more realistic expectation. He has not played since May 20, when he left in the sixth inning against the White Sox.
In Victorino’s place, the Red Sox have been relying heavily on Daniel Nava in right field. Since May 21, Nava is hitting .318 with a .922 OPS in 54 trips to the plate.
